WhatMail - Privacy Policy

WhatMail ("the Application") is developed by Romain Penchenat ("we", "us", or "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how the Application accesses, uses, stores, and shares user data, including data obtained through Google APIs.

1. Data Accessed

WhatMail accesses Google user data strictly to enable core email management features. The Application may access:

• Email message content, subject lines, attachments, and labels
• Email metadata (sender, recipient, timestamps)
• Basic account information (email address and profile name)

This access is necessary to allow users to view, organize, and send emails within the app.

2. Data Usage

All accessed data is used exclusively to provide and enhance the email management experience within WhatMail.

• Email data is processed and displayed locally on the user's device.
• No email data is analyzed, indexed, or stored on WhatMail's servers.
• Data is not used for advertising or profiling purposes.

3. Data Sharing

WhatMail does not share, sell, or transfer user email data to third parties.

The only third-party service used is Amplitude, which collects anonymous, non-identifiable analytics to help improve app performance and user experience. Amplitude does not receive or process any email content or personal identifiers.

4. Data Storage and Protection

• All email-related data remains stored locally on the user's device.
• Certain technical operations, such as account setup and server synchronization, may involve temporary server-side processes, but no user emails or message content are stored on WhatMail's servers.
• All data transmissions are encrypted using industry-standard security protocols (HTTPS/TLS).

5. Data Retention and Deletion

• Local email data is retained only while the user is logged into the application.
• Users can permanently delete all locally stored data at any time by logging out.
• Account configuration information stored on WhatMail servers is deleted permanently upon account removal.
